			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Build Lebanon Trails hike for Saturday, March 10th takes us on an exploration of the wonders along the Foster Lake Trail in Sweet Home.</p>
<p>The Sweet Home Community Trails Committee is leading this free and easy 4 mile round trip hike. A shuttle back to the parking area is available at the half way point.</p>
<p>From Sweet Home travel east on Hwy 20 to Foster Lake. Go across the Dam and turn right, park at the Gedney Creek Boat Ramp. The hike begins promptly at 10 am.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Who’s ready to get their hands dirty? This is your chance to help BLT improve your community’s trail system! Join us on February 11th for a work and maintenance day at Marks Slough Trail.</p>
<p>Wear sturdy footwear and work cloths. Work will include clearing brush from two areas to create viewing spots along the South Santiam River. If possible, please bring gloves and hand tools. You may also want to bring along a snack, BLT will have water available.</p>
<p>From the Intersection of Highway 20 and Highway 34 (Main Street and Wheeler) by the Ixtapa Mexican Restaurant go east on Wheeler. Go straight where Wheeler Street changes to Tennessee Road. Continue on Tennessee Road for ½ mile. Go past Lebanon’s Wastewater Treatment Plant and park accross from the plant in the field on the right side (east) of Tennessee Road.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>On Saturday, January 14th, Linn County Parks and Recreation and Build Lebanon Trails will be hosting a Regional Trails Meeting event along with Benton County Parks, Sweet Home Community Trails, Oregon State Parks, US Forest Service, Albany and Corvallis Parks and Recreation, Oregon State University / College Forests, Corvallis C 2 C Trail, Lebanon Community Foundation, and Greenbelt Land Trust.</p>
<p>This is your opportunity to hear about existing and future multi-use public hiking and bicycling trails in the mid Willamette Valley. Speakers will provide commentary and hand out materials about their individual efforts in providing trails and access to the great Oregon outdoors and how you can get involved.</p>
<p>Join us in bringing in the New Year by exploring the numerous outdoor facilities available in our area. Light refreshments will be available.</p>

<p>Afterwards, return to Ralston Park at 5pm to view the lighting of the Christmas tree!</p>

<p>Wear sturdy footwear and work cloths. Work will include building a new fence along a new trail section and small repairs on the existing fence. If possible, please bring gloves and fence building tools. A tractor would be great.</p>
<p>You may also want to bring along a snack and water.</p>
<p>From the Intersection of Highway 20 and Highway 34 (Main Street and Wheeler) by the Ixtapa Mexican Restaurant go east on Wheeler. Go straight where Wheeler Street changes to Tennessee Road. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Hike one of Lebanon’s most iconic bits of geography—Ridgeway Butte! This hike along the ridge which frames Lebanon’s skyline to the east climbs 850 feet to an elevation of 1,209 feet at the peak. Expect steep inclines and rocky soil surfaces with very uneven footing at times. This is a 2.74 mile hike that will take between 1 to 2 ½ hours to complete. Bring walking sticks, and trekking poles to this rigorous hike!</p>

<p>Be sure to bring your cameras and binoculars—there are incredible views from the top! If you’ve hiked this with us in the past, be sure to make it out again to see all that has changed.</p>
<p>Parking is available at the base of Ridgeway Butte in the gravel turnaround off Berlin Road. Take Highway 20 to Grant Street, then Grant Street to Berlin Road. Look for the BLT event signs along the route and at the parking location. As requested by the property owner, please no dogs for this hike.</p>

<p>In addition to appropriate work clothing please bring gloves and hand tools. Picks, pry bars, wheelbarrows, chain saws and weed eaters are all welcome. You may want to bring along a snack and water. Also, please contact us if you can bring equipment to haul debris to designated dump areas—front bucket tractors, pickups or even quads with trailers!</p>
<p>From the Les Schwab Tire Store on Main Street go north ½ block to Russell Drive. Go east on Russell Drive for 1 mile. Turn right into Cheadle Lake Park. Parking is available in the parking lot.</p>

<p>Visitors to the crystal clear water of McDowell Creek will be rewarded with the beautiful vistas of Royal Terrace and Majestic Falls from the bridges and viewing decks. There are 3 miles of hiking trails in this lush green park. The trails offer exceptional scenery for your hiking, nature study, and picnicking pleasure. Some fishing and wading is also available in the pools below the falls. Also, well socialized leashed dogs welcome on this hike.</p>
<p>To reach McDowell Creek Falls County Park from Lebanon, travel southeast on Highway 20. After approximately 4 miles, turn left onto Fairview Rd. Travel 1 mile on Fairview, then turn left onto McDowell Creek Dr. Follow McDowell Creek Dr. for 7 miles. Park entrance and parking area are on the right hand side near the trail head, restroom and picnic tables. Look for the BLT Event Signs along the way!</p>

<p>Time for a unique &#8220;hike&#8221; down Main Street in Lebanon—you’re invited to join Build Lebanon Trails to walk with us in the <a href="http://www.lebanonstrawberryfestival.info/">102nd Strawberry Festival Parade</a>! This year’s theme is Strawberries in Paradise.</p>
<p>This is your chance to participate in one of Lebanon’s most popular events, so don’t miss out! Be sure to wear shoes appropriate for walking the 2.5 mile route across Lebanon. We’ll have BLT shirts, hats, hoodies and other goodies available for purchase as well!</p>
<p>Meet up on the south end of Lebanon on Market St., by the River Center (the “old Walmart”). We’ll be staging at 10:30am with the parade starting at 11:00am. Keep an eye out for the blue BLT shirts!</p>
