BLT Volunteers in Action
At Build Lebanon Trails what we're most proud of is the participation from our wonderful Lebanon community! From board members to trail workers, it's all volunteers who started and shaped BLT and keep it running. Our heartfelt thanks to all of you.
What our volunteers like doing the most is being out on our trails, and what most volunteers want to do is participate in trail maintenance work. The City of Lebanon owns the trails that BLT builds and they oversee maintenance, but there's definitely a role that we play in keeping the trails in shape. This includes work like removing ivy strangling the trees, installing and cleaning benches, planting, mulching, and watering trees, and removing graffiti.
We schedule trail work days as part of our monthly events, and we hope you'll join us! Here are some news posts and photos of past trail work days. Perhaps you'll find your own happy face in the crowd? And eventually we hope you'll become a dedicated BLT volunteer–there's so much you can contribute!
BLT’s trailwork event for Earth Day was successful at several different locations. Here are photos of the hard workers and results at Bob Smith Memorial Park.
On February 18, volunteers from Linn-Co and other volunteers from our community worked to free tree trunks from the English ivy strangling them. English ivy grows around and up tree trunks and eventually constricts the trunk’s growth and injures the bark, which then allows pests and diseases to enter the tree. Linn-Co is sponsoring BLT…
