Trail Work Day 2019

Saturday, February 9, 2019

9:00am - 11:00am

Cost: Free

You can count on a good time and good company while enjoying the best of an Oregon winter day and helping to improve a trail segment at Cheadle Lake.

Our activities will be mainly mulching trees but also include:

  • Weed around trees
  • Trim trees (clean off any suckers that might get in the way of mowing)
  • Clean up deteriorated tree posts (tree support posts that are rotting remove and collect)
  • Remove dead trees (we’ll have a couple of bow saws for that)
  • Pick up trash
  • Blow off paths (we’ll have a couple backpack blowers).

Come and get those endorphins activated!

Special notes

Wear good apparel for working in dirt and mud and quite possibly rain.

Please bring any of the following equipment if you have it: wheelbarrow, pitchfork, garden rake, shovel, weeding tools, pruners, plus gloves, clothes, and shoes that don’t mind getting muddy.

We’ll have extra equipment to lend out, but wheelbarrows and rakes in particular will help get the mulch from the pile to the trees.

Please try to mark your tools in some way so they can be identified.

Where to meet

Cheadle Lake North Shore parking lot and boat launch off River Road. See the map.
